Rushden Man’s Body in the River

This (Friday) morning the body of Mark Underwood, and old age pensioner, of Rushden, was found in the river Nene, near the Black Bridge, at Wellingborough. The man was to have appeared at the Wellingborough Police Court today on a charge of drunkenness. A farm labourer named Barber first saw the body and PC Bignall and a National Reservist recovered it, and had it removed to the mortuary at the Workhouse.
