Mrs Zilpah Mary Tye

The Death of Mrs Zilpah Mary Tye, wife of Mr Harry Tye, of 29 Moor-road, took place on Tuesday. Mrs Tye was the daughter of the late Mr John Wills, and was a popular school teacher. She was born at Brampton, Hunts, and came to Rushden about 25 years ago to the Alfred-street Schools. She had taught, at various times, at all the day schools of the town.

THE FUNERAL took place last Friday of the late Mrs Zilpah Mary Tye, wife of Mr Harry Tye, of 29, Moor-road, whose death we reported in our last issue. The first part of the service was conducted in St Peter's Church by the Rev Ion Carroll, who also officiated at the graveside. In the church the hymns ''How sweet the name of Jesus sounds'' and "Hark, hark my soul'' were sung, and the organist (Mrs Carroll) played very feelingly "O rest in the Lord," from Mendelssohn's ''Elijah." The mourners were Mr Tye (widower), Mr Henry Tye (sen); Mrs Blagden, of Balby, Yorks (sister), Mr John Wills, of Nottingham (nephew) ; Mrs DeHorne, of Gloucester (sister); Mr Frank Tye (brother-in-law); Mr and Mrs Harry Tye (father-in-law and mother-in-law); Mr Reg Tye (brother-in-law); Mrs Dilley (sister-in-law); Mrs Brett, Miss Gadsby, and Miss Packer (friends). Mr Harry Tye, Mr Henry Tye, and Mrs J Wills desire to express their heartfelt thanks to the many kind is who sent messages of sympathy and for the beautiful floral tributes.
