Mr. W. Tilley, Rushden

Mr. Walter Tilley, a former well-known baker and confectioner in Rushden, died at his home, 115, Wellingborough Road, Rushden, on Tuesday. He was 83, and had been ill for two weeks.

A native of Leicestershire, Mr. Tilley started in business when he came to the town in 1897. He retired in 1935. He was keenly interested in sport, and was also associated with St. Mary’s Church. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Martha Tilley, and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Appleby.

The funeral is to-morrow, with a service at St. Mary’s Church.
