Mrs. Ellen Tailby

Rushden Lady Dies

After a long illness Mrs. Ellen Tailby passed away on Tuesday morning at her residence 123, Higham Rd., Rushden. Aged 80 years, she was the widow of Mr. George Tailby, a well-known Rushden grocer and provision merchant, whose death occurred in December 1931.

Mrs. Tailby was a native of Higham Ferrers and, although living at Rushden ever since her marriage, remained a loyal member of Higham Methodist Church, with which she had been associated from childhood.

Her four daughters are Mrs Hector Macleod (Bournemouth). Mrs. Hugh Ladds (Rushden), Mrs. G. Herbert Parkin (Wellingborough) and Miss Muriel Tailby (Rushden). Four grandchildren also are bereaved.
