The funeral of Mrs. Stokes, aged 83, of Crabb-street, widow of the late Mr. A. Stokes, took place on Tuesday and amid signs of sympathy. The old lady was one of the oldest members of the Baptist Church. The service was conducted at the church and graveside by the Rev. H. J. Horn, and the mourners were Mrs. Chambers (daughter), Mrs. G. Stokes (daughter-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. G. Stokes (son and daughter-in-law), Mr. F. Stokes and Mrs. Knight (daughter and son), Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Mr. and Mrs. A. Stokes (sons and daughters-in-law), Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Dawkes (grandchildren), and several other grandchildren. |
