The Rushden Argus, 28th February 1919, transcribed by Kay Collins
Miss Elizabeth Smith
Sad Death

The whole town will be deeply sorry to learn of the death of Miss Elizabeth Smith, of the Farm House School, High-street, which took place after a short illness of pneumonia on Tuesday night. The deceased lady was, with her sister, a principal of a Kindergarten School, and the death is tragic from the fact that the surviving sister is blind. She was taken ill last Friday, and was attended by Dr. Baker. The deceased lady was of a most lovable character, and her death, although she had survived to a ripe old age, will be deeply regretted by all who knew her.
