Rushden Echo & Argus, 11th February 1938, transcribed by Kay Collins

Mrs Sarah Ann Skinner

An old and much respected resident of Rushden, Mrs Sarah Ann Skinner (well-known as “Aunt” Skinner), died at the home of her son, 6, Windmill-road, on Tuesday week, at the age of 82. A native of St Neots, she had lived in Rushden for the greater part of her life, and had resided with her only son, Mr A W Warner, for many years. Mrs Skinner was the widow of the late Mr Nathaniel Skinner. Although she had been in failing health for some time, she did not become seriously ill until a week before her death.

The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon, and the service, which was held at the Wellingborough-road Mission Church, was conducted by the minister, the Rev E E Bromage, who also officiated at the interment. The mourners were: Mr and Mrs A W Warner (son and daughter-in-law), Mr B Warner and Mrs Ibbett (grandson and sister), Mr and Mrs S Baker (son-in-law and daughter), Mr E Baker (grandson), Mr F Ibbett, Mrs Johnson, Mr C Ibbett, Miss A Warner, Mr and Mrs H Knight, Mrs Hill, Mr B Warner, Mrs Mason, Mrs Bass, Mrs Bailey, Mrs C Ibbett, Mr W Knight, Mr J Knight and Mrs Balam (nephews and nieces), Mrs Ireson and Mrs Holley (cousins), Miss Safford (friend).
