‘Morning Star’ Tent’s Tribute at Rushden Funeral

Attended by many friends and relatives, the funeral of Mr Horace George Sanders, who died last week, took place at the Rushden cemetery on Monday, the minister of the Independent Wesleyan Church, the Rev T S Kee, officiating.

Mr Sanders, who for many years kept a confectionery shop in Church-street, Rushden, was well-known in the town, and was steward of the Morning Star tent of the Independent Order of Rechabites, being some years ago the Chief Ruler. He was 56 years of age.

The principal mourners were Mrs H G Sanders (widow), Mrs G Sanders (mother), Mr A H Sanders, Rugby (brother), Mrs W Patenall (aunt), Mr H Crick and Mr P G Patenall, Rushden (cousins), Mr and Mrs W Roberts (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Mrs A M Sanders, Rugby, Miss G Briggs and Miss E Briggs (sisters-in-law), Mrs Elsie Threlkeld, Northampton (cousin), Mrs and Miss Abbott, Twywell, Mr Fred Hopkins and Mr Eric Jones (friends). Many commercial colleagues were present.

Representing the Ancient Order of Rechabites (“Morning Star” Tent) were: Brothers W T L Flood (Chief Ruler), W J Lack (Tent Auditor), C Neal (Past Chief Ruler), A Hanger (Levite), F Perkins (Guardian), W G Partridge (committee, J H Shipman (secretary), and Messrs H R Clipson and G Barnes (members).
