For many years in business as a baker and confectioner, Mr William Henry Saint passed away at his home, 52 Grove-road, Rushden, on Thursday April 13th, after being in failing health for several years.
Coming from his native Godmanchester as a young man in 1897, Mr Saint established his business, which adjoined the house, and from which he retired in 1940 through ill health. He was connected with Zion Strict Baptist Chapel and was 72 years of age.
A widow, Mrs Catherine Harriett Saint, and one son, Mr R T Saint, are left. Mr Samuel Saint, the stone-mason, of Newton-road, is a brother.
The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, and the service in the Cemetery Chapel was conducted by Mr Rootham, of Kettering. Mourners present were Mrs C H Saint (widow), Mr R T Saint (son), Mr and Mrs S Saint (brother and sister-in-law), and Mrs R T Saint (daughter-in-law). There was a request for no flowers, just one wreath being sent jointly by the widow and family.
Messrs. Whittington and Tomlin were the undertakers.
