Rushden Echo, 15th November 1918
Mrs. Elizabeth Perkins

OBITUARY – We regret to record the death, which took place suddenly on Monday, at the residence of her son, Mr. Herbert Perkins of 245, Wellingborough-road, of Mrs. Elizabeth Perkins, aged 59, widow of the late Mr. George Perkins, who predeceased her two years ago to the same day and hour.  Last May the deceased lady had a bad illness, since which time her heart had been in a very serious condition, and bearing in mind that she had one son, Corpl. Horace Perkins, of the R.A.M.C., serving with the Colours, the sudden announcement of the armistice proved too much for her, and she had a stroke which culminated fatally about six hours later.  The deceased lady, who was well known and highly respected throughout the town, was a member and regular attendant of Zion Baptist Chapel.  She leaves three sons to mourn their loss, viz., Mr. Herbert Perkins, secretary of the Standard Rotary Co. Ltd., Rushden; Corpl. Horace Perkins, R.A.M.C., and Mr. Arthur Perkins, of the clerical staff of the Standard Rotary Co.
