Mrs Catherine S F R Parker


Obituary—The death took place early on Friday morning last of Mrs Catherine S F R Parker, wife of Mr Samuel Parker, of 33, Church-street, Rushden. Deceased, who was 75 years of age, had been ill for the last three months, but the end came very unexpectedly. A native of Rushden, Mrs Parker had resided in the town all her life. She was a life-long teetotaller, and was a member of the Rushden Temperance Society and of the Rushden branch of the B.W.T.A., though of late years she had not been able to take an active interest in temperance work. She was connected with the Independent Wesleyan Church. Her sister, Mrs Sargent Knight, predeceased her. The funeral took place on Monday, the Rev C J Keeler officiating. In consequence of the illness of the deceased’s eldest daughter, the first part of the service was held at the house. The interment took place at 2.45p.m. The mourners were: Mr S Parker (husband) and Mrs Kemshead (daughter); Mr Charles Parker (son) and Mrs Whitehead (daughter; Mr and Mrs William Parker (son and daughter-in-law); Mr J Cook (son-in-law) and Miss R Cook (granddaughter); Mr Edward Kemshead and Mrs C Parker (son-in-law and daughter-in-law); Mr Whitehead (son-in-law) and Mrs Bailey (niece); Mr Ernest Knight and Mr C Robinson (nephews); Mrs E Maddams and Mrs L Denton (cousins). Two of the deceased’s sons, Mr G Parker and Mr Walter Parker are in Toronto, Canada. Wreaths were placed on the coffin from the husband and family, from the grandchildren, from the nephews, and from the niece. Mr Parker and the family wish to express their deep gratitude to the numerous kind friends for their sympathy in the bereavement which they have sustained.
