The Rushden Echo and Argus, 15th December, 1933, transcribed by Gill Hollis
Mrs. W. Parker, of Rushden

The funeral takes place to-day (Friday) of Mrs. Clara Beatrice Parker, of 31. Church-street, Rushden.

Mrs. Parker was taken ill on Friday week, and she and her husband, Mr. William Parker, were both suffering from influenza at the same time.  Though Mr. Parker is now convalescent, his wife grew worse, and died on Tuesday.  It is thought that the severity of the attack affected her heart, which had not been strong of late.

If she had lived until Christmas week, Mr. and Mrs. Parker would have been married thirty years.  For more than that time Mr. Parker has been in the Finishing Dept. at the Rushden C.W.S. Boot Factory.

Mrs. Parker came of a large family comprising seven sisters and two brothers: Mrs. C. Woods, Manton-road, Mrs. S. Dunkley, King’s-road, Mrs. B. Foulkes, Bedford-road, Mrs. C. Harbour, Irchester-road, Miss Ida Ward, Park-place, Rushden, Mrs. John Gunn, Broughton, Mr. Arthur Ward, Crabb-street, Rushden, and Mr. Fred Ward, who is in Canada.  Mr. and Mrs. John Ward (her father and mother) live at Park-place, Rushden.
