The funeral of the late Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Panter, who passed away at 28, Oakley-road, on November 6th, at the age of 68 years, as reported in our last issue, took place on Saturday at the cemetery. The first portion of the obsequies was conducted in the Wellingborough-road Mission Hall by the Rev. C. J. Keeler, who also officiated at the graveside. The coffin, which was of polished elm, with brass fittings, bore the inscription:-
SARAH ELIZABETH PANTER
Died November 6th, 1917.
Aged 68 years.
The mourners were: Mr. James Panter (son), and Mrs. A. Carrington (daughter), Mr. Percy Panter (son) and Mrs. C. Long (daughter), Gunner Chris. Panter, R.G.A. (son), and Mrs. R. W. Mackness (daughter), Pte. John Panter, Machine Gun Corps (son) and Mrs. James Panter (daughter-in-law), Mr. Albert Carrington (son-in-law) and Mrs. Percy Panter (daughter-in-law), Mrs. C. Panter (daughter-in-law) and Mr. E. Panter (grandson), Mr. A. Short (brother) and Mrs. A. Bennett (sister), Mr. W. Short (brother) and Mrs. A. Short (sister-in-law), Mrs. Todd (niece) and Miss L. Hinson (friend), Mrs. Hodgkins (niece) and Mr. L. Carrington (grandson). The Women’s Adult School, of which deceased was a member, was represented by the president and the secretary. A number of beautiful wreaths were placed on the grave. Mr. T. Swindall was the undertaker. The family desire to express their sincere thanks to all who have sent expressions of sympathy with them in their bereavement.
