Rushden Echo, 13th April 1928, transcribed by Kay Collins

Mrs. Emma Packwood

Obituary—Many old residents of Rushden will hear with regret of the death of Mrs. Emma Packwood, aged 88, widow of Mr. William Packwood (who died in 1907). Which occurred at her home, 4 Denmark-road, on Monday. Mr. Packwood used to be Sanitary Inspector in this district. He and Mrs. Packwood were long associated with St. Mary’s Church. Mrs. Packwood, a native of Rushden, was of a retiring nature, but she was none the less much esteemed. One son, Mr. Alfred Packwood, who was formerly a carting contractor in Rushden, and daughter, Mrs. Ward, of Ashford, Kent, are the children left to mourn their loss. The funeral took place yesterday morning at St. Mary’s Church and the cemetery.
