Obituary—We regret to announce the death, which occurred on Monday at The Homestead, Robinson-road, Rushden, of Mrs. Elizabeth Pack (86), widow of the late Mr. Samuel Pack, of Higham Ferrers. A native of Wellingborough, the deceased lady for 50 years lived at Higham Ferrers, where her husband, who predeceased her about 14 years ago, was a townsman of much prominence. He was an Alderman from 1905, and devoted much time to public service. Mrs. Pack was a greatly respected member of the Wesleyan cause at Higham. She was a Miss McCarthy, and married a Mr. Horrell. Ald. C. W. Horrell, of Rushden, is a son by Mrs. Pack’s first marriage. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at the Wesleyan Church and the Cemetery, Higham Ferrers, the Rev. H. Graham Payn and the Rev. R. H. A. Routledge officiating. At the chapel the hymns “Rock of ages” and “Jesu, Lover of my soul” were sung. There were amongst others in the congregation Mr. Isaac Cunnington, Mr. T. Watson, Mr. A. Gadsby, Mr. A. Middleton, and Mrs. C. Espin, and numerous distant relatives and friends. The chief mourners were Mr. C. A. Horrell, C.A., Mr. Ernest Pack (sons), Mr. W. Mc. Horrell, Mr. C. Pack (grandsons), Mr. Walter Pack (stepson), and Mr. William Pack. Wreaths and sprays were received from Mr. and Mrs. E. Pack, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Horrell, Dory and Emily (Leicester), Mr. Walter Pack, Mr. and Mrs. John Pack, Mr. W. Mc. Horrell and family, Mrs. Bailey and Bessie, Ada (Canada), Mr. and Mrs. E. Loakes (Thrapston), Mr. and Mrs. Wood and George, Mr. and Mrs. C. Espin, and others. A good many friends also attended the committal service at the graveside. The family of the late Mrs. Pack desire to tender their sincere thanks to the numerous friends who have sent messages of sympathy in their great bereavement.
