Rushden Echo & Argus, 9th July 1937, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mr J Noble

News is received of the death at London, Ontario, Canada, of Mr. John Noble, father of Mr. Fred Noble, of Oval-road, Rushden, at the age of 80 years. Mr. Noble, who passed away on Thursday, June 18, was formerly caretaker of the Park-road Methodist Church, and he was the founder of the Adult School Male Voice Choir. An active worker in the school, he also served as School Manager. His visit to Rushden in 1930, after an absence of 23 years in Canada, was the occasion of a reception in the Adult School at which he was guest of honour and at which, in a speech, he made many interesting comparisons between the Rushden of 1907 and 1930. He will be well remembered by an older generation, who will mourn his loss. He leaves three sons and two daughters, his wife Mrs. Sarah Noble, having died in 1927. All the children with the exception of Mr. Fred Noble are in Canada.
