Mr. Edward Noble
The Death of a Rushden Tradesman


We regret to record the death, which took place from bronchitis on Monday, at his home at 100 Portland Road, Rushden, of Mr. Edward Noble, aged 73, for many years, tinsmith in Rushden. Mr. Noble was a son of the late Mr. Robert Noble, of Higham Ferrers, and came to Rushden to live over 20 years ago. He was a member of the Rushden Conservative Club, and latterly of the West End Club. He had been ill for about six months, but had not kept to his bed until within ten days of his death. Dr. H.S Baker had been in attendance. Deceased leaves a widow, four sons and one daughter.

The funeral took place at the cemetery on Wednesday. The Rev. Ion Carroll (Vicar of St. Peter’s) officiated. The mourners were: Mrs. Noble (Widow), Mr. W.H. Noble (son); Mr. F.J. Noble (son), Miss F. Noble (daughter); Mr. H.E. Noble, of London (son); Mrs. W.H. Noble (daughter in law); Master H.T. Noble (son), Mrs. F.J. Noble (daughter in law); Miss Lily Noble (grand-daughter), Mrs. H.E. Noble of London, (daughter-in-law); Mrs. Wright Mastin of Woodford (sister-in-law); Mrs. W. Clarke (friend.)

The wreaths bore the following inscriptions:

In affectionate remembrance from his sorrowing wife, son and daughter, Harold and Florrie – “Peace perfect peace.”

In loving memory of Dad, from Will and Sis – “Gone but not forgotten.”

In loving remembrance of dear Dad, from Fred and Ethel, Higham Ferrers.

In loving memory of Dad, from Bert and Lizzie – “Rest in Peace.”

To our dear Grandpa, from Lily, Evelyn ,Willie and Allan.

A token of deepest sympathy, from Mr. and Mrs. Shaw, India and China Com. Rushden.

Mrs. Noble and family wish to offer their heartfelt thanks to the many kind friends who have sent messages of sympathy and for the beautiful wreaths.
