Mr A W Neville

A playing member of Rushden Town Band for the last 40 years, Mr Arthur William Neville (69), of 74 Robinson-road, Rushden, died last Friday at Northampton Hospital, to which he was admitted for an operation a fortnight earlier.

Mr. Neville had a band career of 50 years during which he also assisted Kettering Rifles and Irthlingborough Town. At different times he played the cornet, euphonium and baritone. He was president of the Rushden Workers Self-Help Coal Club since its formation 35 years ago and worked as a hell attacher for Messrs. Sanders and Sanders, also being a member of the Athletic and Band Clubs. A widow,

Two sons—both of them bandsmen—and two daughters are bereaved.

The funeral was held on Tuesday and the Rector (Rev E A Green) conducted the service at the home. [a list of mourners follows]
