Mr. George Morris

Funeral of Ex-Games Secretary
The funeral of Mr. George Morris, of 177, Wellingborough Road, Rushden, took place on Friday.

Formerly games secretary of the Windmill Club, president of the Rushden and District Billiards League and Rushden and District Skittles League, secretary of the Rushden Individual Skittles Championship, and a member of the United Clubs' Blind and Crippled Committee, Mr. Morris had been a keen indoor and outdoor sportsman throughout his life.

The service was conducted at the home by the Rev. J. Renison, of the Independent Wesleyan Church, and mourners were Mrs. M. Morris (widow) Mr. R. Morris (son), Mr. and Mrs. R. Weston, Bristol (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. T. Morris, Stanwick (brother and sister-in-law), Mrs. E. Allen (sister), Miss A. Allen (niece), Mrs J. Baines (sister-in-law), Mr. R. Hill (brother-in-law), Mrs. R. Hill (sister-in-law), Mrs. R. Hill (niece), Mr. W. Elliott (cousin), Mr. F. Craxton (representing the Windmill Club), Mr. R. Mitchell and Mr. W. Noble (Adult School).

Among other friends and representatives of the C.W.S. Boot Works (where Mr. Morris was employed for 33 years), were Coun. J. T. Richardson, Coun. E. A. Sugars, Mr. D. Tilley and Mr. C. Hefford.

Wreaths included those from Rushden branch British Legion, C.W.S. Pensioners, United Clubs' Blind and Crippled Committee, Rushden and District Skittles League, Rushden Individual Skittles Championship committee and members of Windmill Club, committee and members of Rushden Adult School Institute and committee and members of Rushden Athletic Club.
