Rushden Argus, 22nd May 1914, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mrs. Meadows
Oldest Resident
Death of a Rushden Nonagenarian

We regret to record the death, which took place on Tuesday morning, of Mrs. Meadows, Rushden's oldest inhabitant.

The deceased was a wonderful old lady of 93 years of age, who until quite recently was able to get about quite well She began to refuse her food about a fortnight ago, and since then gradually sank and passed away at 10.50 a.m. on Tuesday. While still in her 93rd year the old lady used to fetch her pension money from the Post Office, and regularly got up and looked after herself. She resided with her daughter, Mrs. Stacey, in Orchard-place, where she died.
