Mr. Alfred Matthews
Found Dead in his Chair


The funeral took place on Friday last of the late Mr. Alfred Matthews, who resided with his sister, Mrs. Cox, the landlady of the Chequers Inn, Higham Ferrers. The deceased, who was 54 years of age, had been suffering from heart disease, and had been attended by Dr. Crew. On Tuesday, Jan. 16th, he was found dead in a chair in his bedroom at ten o’clock in the morning by his daughter, Miss Ellen Matthews. The deceased leaves two daughters, Mrs. Allen, of Wolverhampton, and Miss Matthews.
