A servant of the L.N.W. Railway Company for 35 years, Mr Lymage’s last appointment was at Ditchford, and a few months after he retired three years ago the little station of Ditchford on the Northampton-Peterborough line was closed for passenger service. Mr Lymage was a native of Buckden, Hunts. He was a man of quiet tastes and never took part in public affairs. The widow and one daughter are left. Twelve months ago Mr Lymage lost a son by death, and his deep grief led to a breakdown in health. Last December he was found to be suffering from a growth, and, though a specialist was consulted, little hope of recovery could be held out. Dr Greenfield rendered skilled service throughout Mr Lymage’s illness.

The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, a service being held in the parish church, Irthlingborough, and the interment being in the family grave in Irthlingborough Cemetery. The mourners were Mrs Lymage and Mrs Dickens (wife and daughter), Mrs Oakley and Mrs Thompson (sister and niece), Mrs Hull and Mrs Truckell (sister and niece), Mr Dickens and Mrs Ashpole (son-in-law and niece), Mr Adams and Miss Adams, Mr and Mrs Fred Adams, Mr and Mrs Frank Adams (brothers and sisters-in-law, Mrs Adams and Mrs Stock (sister-in-law and niece), and Mr Godson and Mrs Cox (cousins). The coffin was of unpolished oak with silver fittings.
