Funeral of Retired Photographer

The funeral of Mr Edgar C Linnitt, retired photographer, of 57 Higham Road, Rushden, whose death occurred last Thursday, took place at Kettering Crematorium on Monday afternoon.

The Rev. Kenneth Lyon, minister of Irthlingborough Methodist Church, officiated.

Mourners were: Mr and Mrs Leslie Linnitt, Mr and Mrs Eric Linnitt (sons and daughters-in-law), Mr and Mrs J Lilley, Mr and Mrs G H Parkin, Wellingborough, Mr and Mrs H R Parkin, Kettering, Mr R R Griffiths (nephews and nieces), Miss G Watson, Miss H Watson, Mrs H Neal and Mr L V Elliott.

The Pemberton Lodge of Freemasons was represented by Messrs. H Mackness (W.M.), W Brawn (also representing Mr A J Sturgess, secretary), L Clark, E A Fox and B R Palmer.

Mr R A Evans represented the Risdene Lodge and Messrs. Simpson and Mason, solicitors.

Death of Mr Edgar Linnitt
A Few Hours After Leaving Hospital

Only a few hours after returning from Kettering General Hospital, where he had been under treatment for three weeks, Mr Edgar Linnitt, of 57 Higham Road, Rushden, died on Thursday evening, aged 71.

His health had declined rapidly since Christmas.

For many years Mr Linnitt had a photographic business at 128 High Street, Rushden, retiring in 1945. He began as an assistant to the late Mr S Powell, was a partner in the firm of Woodhead and Linnitt, and continued on his own when Mr Woodhead moved to Wellingborough.

In specialised branches of photographic work he served customers in many parts of the country.

A son of the late Mr T W C Linnitt, who was prominent in social work for many years, Mr Linnitt was interested in most forms of sport, he was a member of the Town Bowling Club and a supporter of the Town F.C.. He was a keen whist player.

He belonged for many years to the Pemberton Lodge of Freemasons.

During his illness, Mr Linnitt was in the care of friends at 34, Shirley Road. His wife died last June and he leaves two sons, Leslie and Eric.

The funeral will take place at Kettering Crematorium at 2 p.m. on Monday.
