Mr Caleb Line, Rushden


The funeral took place on Tuesday at Rushden of Mr Caleb Line, of 116, High-street South, who died on the previous Friday.

Aged 71 years, the deceased gentleman had been a shoe laster by trade, and was a member of the Town Band Club. He leaves eight daughters and two sons. Mr Line was a native of Earls Barton, but had lived in Rushden for the past 48 years. He had been ill for a long time, but had only kept to his bed a fortnight.

The funeral was conducted by the Rev T W Gill (minister of the Rushden Park-road Baptist Church).

The principal mourners were: Mrs J Pack (daughter), Mr G Line (son), Mrs A Sargent (daughter), Mr W Line (son), Mrs W Lovell, Mrs Bates, Mrs G Wadsworth, Mrs F Rice, Mrs A Church and Mrs S Shrives (daughters), Mrs W Line (daughter-in-law), Mr J Pack (son-in-law), Mr F Rice (son-in-law), and Miss A Pack (grand-daughter).

Wreaths were received from the following: Ada and Jack and family; Lot and Trick and family; Fan, Bill and children; Arthur and Ethel; Maud, George, Jim and Little Kitty; George and Sylvia, Kate and Fred, and Little Jean; Alice and Arthur; Walt, Nellie and children; Doris and Stan and baby; Nora; From his only Sister; All at 4 and 8 Bedford-road; Sympathy, from 199, High-street South.

Messrs T Swindall and Sons had the funeral arrangements in hand.
