Miss Ivy Line

Rushden Echo, 12th July 1918, transcribed by Kay Collins

The Funeral of the late Miss Ivy Line, who passed away on July 4th at 22, North-street, after a lingering illness, at the age of 19 years, took place on Monday at the cemetery, the Rev. A. J. Meakin (Vicar of St. Peter’s) officiating. The coffin, of polished elm with brass fittings, bore the inscription:

Ivy Line
Died July 4th 1918
Aged 19 years

The mourners were as follow: Mr. and Mrs. A Line (father and mother), Mr. Arthur Line (brother) and Mrs. A. Pettit (sister), Mr. Alfred Line and Mrs. F. Clark (brother and sister), Master H. Line and Miss Violet Line (brother and sister), Masters Walter and Reginald Line (brothers), Miss Audrey May Line (sister) and Master Fred Clark (nephew), Mrs. A. Line (sister-in-law) and Mrs. Pettit (friend). A number of beautiful wreaths were placed on the grave. Mr. and Mrs. Line and family desire to express their sincere thanks to their neighbours and all kind friends who have shown sincere and practical sympathy with them in the sore trial through which they have passed.
