The funeral took place on Monday of the late Mrs. Emma Mary Lewis, aged 55, who passed away yesterday week at her home, Albion-place. Deceased had suffered for a considerable time from heart affection but had only kept to her bed for about six weeks. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Church where she used to attend regularly when she was well enough. Deceased leaves a husband, three daughters and one son, all of whom are living in Rushden. The Rector (Rev. P. E. Robson, M.A.) conducted the funeral service. The mourners were: Mr. W. Lewis (husband), Mrs. A. Jacques (daughter), Mr. Frank Lewis (son), Miss R. Lewis (daughter), Mr. Arthur Jacques (son-in-law), Miss L. Lewis (daughter), Mrs. Frank Lewis (daughter-in-law), Mr. Checksfield (friend), Mr. Wright Lewis (brother-in-law), Mrs. Walter Lewis (sister-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. Ellis, Podington (brother and sister-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. Watson Lewis (brother and sister-in-law), Mrs. G. Priestly and Mrs. Bunning (friends). The coffin was of polished elm with brass fittings, and bore the inscription:-

Aged 55 years.
