Rushden Echo, 3rd September 1915, transcribed by Gill Hollis
Mr. Alfred Henry Lee

The death took place on Tuesday at 3, Queen'€s-terrace, Rushden, of Mr. Alfred Henry Lee, at the age of 52 years, after a lingering and painful illness. The deceased gentleman was a well-known Rushden tradesman, having carried on the business as grocer for the past 15 or 16 years. He leaves a widow to mourn her loss. The funeral took place this (Friday) afternoon in the cemetery, the Rev. R. H. Higson officiating. The coffin, which was of polished elm with brass fittings, bore the inscription:

ALFRED HENRY LEE,
Died August 31st, 1915,
Aged 52 years.

The mourners comprised Mrs. Lee (widow), Mr. T. Lee, of Manchester (brother), Misses Patty, Rose, and Laura Hovell (sisters-in-law), Mrs. O. Ward (aunt), and Mrs. Payne (friend). A number of beautiful floral tributes were placed on the grave. Mrs. Lee desires to thank all kind friends who have sent expressions of sympathy with her in her sore bereavement.
