Rushden Echo and Argus, 25th April 1947, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mrs Sarah Ladds
She Died on Same Date as Mother

Thirty-five years ago, Mrs Sarah Ladds, of Rushden, collapsed in the street, and died a few hours later. On Sunday, at approximately the same time and on the same date, her daughter, Mrs Maud Lily Woolley, on her way to the Methodist Church, Pytchley, collapsed in the street and died at her home three hours later.

Mrs Woolley, who lived in High-street, Pytchley, would have been 70 next month.

Her father, Mr William Sanders Ladds, of Rushden, died two months previously, at the age of 92.

A native of Rushden, Mrs Woolley had always been a keen worker for the Methodist cause and before going to Pytchley, was a Sunday school teacher at Rushden.

She had also been a member of the Wesley Guild, and Methodist Women’s Meeting.

Mrs Woolley attended the Coal Merchants’ dinner at the Central Hall, Kettering, on Thursday, where she took a keen interest in the proceedings.

Her husband, Mr John Thomas Woolley, a retired coal merchant, Methodist preacher, and “Evening Telegraph” correspondent for Pytchley, and one son, Mr William Harold Woolley, of Rothwell, are bereaved.
