Rushden Echo, 22nd March 1918
Arthur Eric Lack

OBITUARY – Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lack, of 50, High-street, Rushden, have suffered bereavement by the death of their youngest son, Arthur Eric, who passed away on Monday morning from croup at the age of five years.  Death took place rather suddenly, as the little boy was at school about a week previous to his death, and it was not until last Sunday afternoon that it was found necessary to call in the doctor.  The funeral took place yesterday at the cemetery, the Rev. R. C. Law officiating.  The coffin of polished elm with white enamel furniture bore the inscription:-

ARTHUR ERIC LACK,
Died March 18th, 1918.
Aged 5 years 10 months.

The mourners were: Mr. and Mrs. E. Lack (father and mother), the Misses Dorothy and Lucy Lack (sisters), the Misses Willmott and Lack (aunts), and Miss Partridge.  Eleven beautiful wreaths were placed on the grave.  Mr. and Mrs. E. Lack desire to express their grateful thanks for the many expressions of sympathy they have received in their sore trial.  Messrs. Whittington and Tomlin were the undertakers.
