Rushden Echo, 26th February 1926, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mr William Saby Knight

The Death took place last night, at 30, Portland-road, of Mr William Saby Knight, a well-known and popular resident of the town. On Jan. 16th, during the heavy snow and frost the district experienced, Mr Knight fell and hurt his elbow. Septic poisoning set in, and since the date of his mishap Mr Knight had been unwell, having been seriously ill the last fortnight or so. The deceased will be remembered by many of the townspeople as one of the former secretaries of the Rushden Town Football Club, a position he held for some time with considerable success. The deceased was also a life-president of the Northants Football League. Born in the town 66 years ago, Mr Knight had lived here practically all his life. There are left to mourn their loss the widow, and two daughters, Mrs Shelton, of Moor-road, Rushden, and Mrs G McNeil, of Chester.
