Mrs Rose Knight

The ladies of St. Mary’s Church, Rushden, have lost an esteemed associate by the death on Saturday of Mrs. Rose Knight, of Oswald-road, Rushden, wife of Mr. Walter Knight, the printer. Mrs. Knight was on the committee of the Mothers’ Union, was a magazine distributor, and took part in much other church work until her illness, which developed about six months ago. She had also taken a keen interest in her husband’s business.

Mrs. Knight came of an old Rushden family, the Chettles, and was born in Little-street. There is one son, Mr. Frederick Knight, who is in Guernsey, under German rule.

The funeral took place on Tuesday, when a service at St. Mary’s Church was conducted by the Rev. E. A. Green (Rector). The principal mourners were Mr. Walter Knight and Mr. Archibald Knight (widower and brother), Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Coleman (brother and sister-in-law), Mrs. C. H. Knight and Mr. James Knight (sister-in-law and nephew), Mrs. C. Chettle and Mrs. Durdin (sister-in-law and niece), Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Hawkes (nephew and niece), Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Packwood (friends).

Messrs. Whittington and Tomlin made the arrangements.
