Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Ireland

TAVISTOCK RESIDENTS BEREAVED

We regret to record the death on Monday morning of Mrs Elizabeth Ireland, at her home 29, Brook Street, Tavistock.

Mrs. Ireland, who was aged 85, had enjoyed good health all her life until recently.  She was the daughter of a footwear manufacturer and the wife of one.  Her parents were Mr and Mrs Charles Denton, of Rushden, Northamptonshire, and her husband Mr Charles Henry Ireland, who survives her at the age of 86 - retired from similar business to come to Tavistock fifteen years ago.  Mrs Ireland’s only son, Mr Charles Stewart (“Pat”) Ireland, is the well-known footwear dealer of 13 Brook Street, and is also a talented violinist.  Mrs Ireland also leaves one brother, Mr William Ewart, of Liverpool. [an error: William Ewart Ireland was her son and lived in Liverpool]

Mr and Mrs Ireland had celebrated their Golden Wedding recently, and Mr and Mrs C S Ireland have also celebrated their Silver Wedding not long ago.
