Rushden Echo, 8th June 1917, transcribed by Gill Hollis
Mrs. Rosa Hudson

The death of Mrs. Hudson, wife of Mr. G. Hudson, of 70, Queen-street, recorded in last week’s “Rushden Echo,” was the occasion of sympathetic reference on Sunday afternoon at the Women’s Adult School, of which organisation the deceased was a respected member.  The late Mrs. Hudson, who died after a long and painful illness, was a member of the B.W.T.A. Mothers’ Meeting.  The funeral took place on Saturday, the Rev. C. J. Keeler officiating.  The mourners were: Mr. Hudson (husband), Mrs. Timpson (daughter), Mrs. Heap (sister), Mr. W. Hudson (brother-in-law), Mr. Taylor (brother-in-law), Mrs. Litchfield and Miss Readyhoof (friends).  The coffin, of polished elm, with brass fittings, bore the inscription:-

ROSA HUDSON
Died May 30th, 1917
Aged 54 years.

There were a number of beautiful wreaths, including one from Messrs. Seddon and Arlidge, of whose Rushden factory the bereaved husband is the manager.
