The funeral of William John Hincks (only son of Gunner and Mrs. A. E. Hincks, of 2, Station-road), who passed away on January 30th from acute meningitis at the age of 6 years, took place at the cemetery on Saturday, the Rev. P. J. Richards officiating. The coffin, of polished elm, with nickel silver fittings, bore the inscription:-
WILLIAM JOHN HINCKS
Died January 30th, 1918
Aged 6 years.
The mourners were Mrs. A. E. Hincks (mother), Mr. and Mrs. John Hincks, of Wellingborough (grandparents), Mrs. G. Vine (grandmother), Mrs. G. Sayer (aunt), Mrs. Ambridge (aunt), Miss Louie Hincks (aunt), and Pte. Hector Hincks (uncle). Mr. A. Sanders was the undertaker. A number of beautiful floral tributes were placed on the grave. Gunner and Mrs. A. E. Hincks desire to express their sincere thanks for the many expressions of sympathy they have received in their sad bereavement.
