I never owned a pair of Doctor Marten’s boots (Doc Marten’s), perhaps I was one of the odd men that chose not to don a pair of the boots that would be a fashion icon in the UK from early 1960. But the man famous for Dr Marten’s, and ultimately “Rushden and Diamonds” football club has passed away, aged 83. Max Griggs died on Thursday 8th July, 2021, but will always be remembered for taking the “Diamonds” in to the football league in 2001.
