Mrs. A. Gilbert, of Rushden

Mrs. Annie Gilbert, of 8, Queens Terrace, Rushden, who died on Monday morning, was aged 76 years. She had suffered a long illness.

A native of Wellingborough, Mrs. Gilbert came to Rushden when only young, and she had lived in the town ever since. While living at the opposite end of the town she attended the Wellingborough Mission Church.

Besides the widower, Mr. Arthur Gilbert, there are five sons, Messrs. Arthur, Ray, Sid, Edward and Alfred Gilbert and three daughters, Mrs. Lily Campion, Mrs. Mabel Hodgkins and Mrs. Kitty Sugars, who are bereaved.

The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. E. E. Bromage conducting a service at the house, and the mourners were: Mr. Arthur Gilbert and Mr. Raymond Gilbert (husband and son), Mr. Sidney Gilbert and Mr. Edward Gilbert (sons), Mr. Alfred Gilbert and Mr. Ernest Hodgkins (son and son-in-law), Mr. Reg Sugars and Mr. W. Campion (son-in-law and grandson), Mr. Ted Pendrill and Mr. Ernest Pycroft (brother-in-law and nephew.)

The three daughters, a sister, Mrs. Pendrill, two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Hilda Gilbert and Mrs. Laura Gilbert and two friends, Mrs. Moon and Mrs. Henry were at the service but did not go to the cemetery. There was a comprehensive list of wreaths.
