Funeral of the Late Mrs Elmer

Rushden Resident’s Death - A Victim of Pneumonia

Much sympathy is felt with the relatives of the late Mrs. Elmer, of 145 Queen Street, Rushden, whose death took place rather suddenly yesterday week, after only six days’ illness, from pneumonia and heart trouble. Her husband predeceased her 19 years ago. There are three daughters and five sons left to mourn her loss. Mrs. Elmer was a valued member of the Rushden Women’s Adult School and of the Park Road Wesleyan Mothers’ Meeting, and was also associated with the B.W.T.A.

The funeral took place on Tuesday at the cemetery, the Rev. C. J. Keeler officiating. The mourners were Mr. H. Elmer (son), Mrs. Parker (daughter); Mr. F. Elmer (son), Mrs. Church (daughter); Mr. C. Elmer (son), Miss Gladys Elmer (daughter); Mr. S. Elmer (son); Mrs. H. Elmer (daughter-in-law); Mr. F. Parker (son-in-law), Mrs. C. Elmer (daughter-in-law), Mrs. S. Elmer (daughter-in-law), Mrs. Brudenall (sister), Mr. and Mrs. G. Stacey (brother and sister-in-law), Freddy and May Parker, Reggie and Audrey Elmer (grandchildren); Mrs. Webb, Mrs. Underwood, Mrs. Groom, Mrs. Scroxton, Miss Brudenall (nieces); and Mrs. Clayton (friend). Pte. Fred Elmer, Labour Corps. (son), and Pte. H. Church, Royal Fusiliers (son-in-law), were unable to get leave from France to attend the funeral. There were many beautiful wreaths. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. Whittington and Tomlin.

The family of the late Mrs. Elmer desire to offer their sincere thanks to the many kind friends for their sympathy, and also for the floral tributes.
