Mr. J. Eagle, Rushden


The death of the last founder member of the Rushden and Higham Ferrers Angling Association, Mr. Joseph Eagle, occurred at his home, “Angledene,” St. Mary’s Avenue, Rushden, on Tuesday. Mr. Eagle, who was 71, had been in poor health for seven years, but continued working until Christmas.

A native of Northampton, he had lived Rushden for 50 years. He started the fishing section of the Working Men’s Club, and was a member of the Wellingborough Nene Angling Club. A wife and two daughters are bereaved.

The funeral takes place to-day, with a service at St. Mary’s Church.
