Sudden Death Two Months after Golden Wedding


The funeral took place on Boxing Day of a well-known Rushden lady, Mrs Eliza Drage, of 6 Robinson-road. Mrs Drage, who was born at Yardley Hastings, in 1851, died in the early hours of Christmas Eve, after ailing for some months.

She married Mr John Drage at her native village, and had since resided in Rushden.

Mr and Mrs Drage celebrated their golden wedding only last October. They were married at Yardley Hastings Congregational Chapel by the Rev. Mr Copeland.

Mrs Drage was one of the oldest members of the Adult School, and had attended regularly ever since its commencement. She was also devoted to the Park-road Baptist Church.

There are two sons and a daughter left. One of the sons, Mr Edgar Drage, resides at Preston, Canada. Another son was lost in the Great War.
