Mr. Thos. Dickerson

Funeral—The funeral of the late Mr. Thos. Dickerson, of the Post Office, who died on Thursday last, took place on Monday amid general signs of mourning. The deceased gentleman had been ill for some months, and passed away at the age of 67 years. He leaves a widow and family. Mr. Dickerson was superintendent of the Wesleyan Chapel Sunday School, one of the trustees, and a local preacher. The funeral service was conducted by Mr. Surridge, of Rushden, assisted by the Rev. C. J. Keeler and the Rev. Mr. Smith, of Wellingborough. In addition to the family mourners were the Boys’ and Girls’ Sunday Schools, the trustees, the Circuit members, local preachers, chapel members, the choir, and Mr. S. Fields, the Rushden postmaster, and a number of friends. The family mourners were: Mrs. T. Dickerson and Mr. A. Dickerson (widow and son), Mr. and Mrs. J. Odell (daughter and son-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. Ginns (stepdaughter and son-in-law), Lily, Winifred, Dorothea, and Vesta (grandchildren), Mr. C. Dickerson and Mrs. A. Dickerson (brother and daughter-in-law), Mrs. Joe Barley and Mr. J. Dickerson (sister and brother), Mrs. Rivett and Mrs. Layman (sister and niece), Lance-Corpl. Barley and Miss M. Dickerson (nephew and niece), Miss E. Whiteman and Miss G. Whiteman (nieces), Mr. J. Barley and Mrs. J. Dickerson (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Mr. C. Norris and Mrs. Howe (brother-in-law and siter-in-law) Irchester and Wellingboro’; Mrs Rogers and Mrs. Wesley (niece and friend), Wellingboro’ and Irchester; Mrs. Berry and Mrs. Coley (cousin and friend), Rushden; Mrs. Shaw, Northampton; Mr. J. West and Mrs. Whiting (friends); Mrs. W. J. Rivett, Wellingboro’ and Mrs. J. Houghton (friends). There also followed the Sunday School Class, the Chapel Trustees (Messrs. A. Gadsby and Geo. Denton); the local preachers (Messrs. W. Gutteridge, E. A. Mayhew, and E. T. Partridge); representatives of Circuit (Messrs. J. Clark, Hinde, J. Norman, Wrighton, J. Wilmot, and Councillors J. S. Clipson and J. Spencer, J.P.); members of the chapel (Messrs. J. T. Pendered, G. Woollard, G. Church, W. Lilley, and A. Summerfield, Mrs. H. A. Desborough, Mrs. J. T. Pendered, Mrs. Bromage and Mrs. Stapleton); representatives of choir (Messrs. F. Houghton and W. F. Desborough). [A long list of wreaths follows]
