John Douglas Dickens
FUNERAL AT RUSHDEN


The death took place last Saturday at 5, Dell place, Rushden, of John Douglas Dickens, the seven months old child of Pte. and Mrs. J. Dickens.  Death was due to convulsions and bronchitis.

The funeral took place on Tuesday at the cemetery, the Rev. P. E. Robson officiating.  The coffin, of polished oak, with brass fittings, bore the inscription:

JOHN DOUGLAS DICKENS
Died February 23rd, 1918,
Aged 7 months.

The mourners comprised Pte. and Mrs. John Dickens (father and mother), Masters Willie and Harry Dickens (brothers), Mrs. Muscutt (aunt), and Mrs. Parker (friend).

A number of beautiful wreaths were placed on the grave.  Mr. A. Sanders was the undertaker.
