Rushden – Joseph Curtis, an old-established wheelwright, of this village, was at work on Friday, the 15^th ultimo, in his shop, with his son, until four o’clock in the afternoon and after taking tea, the son left the father in the house by himself, and returned in a few minutes, when he found the old man on the floor in a fit. He was taken to bed and he lived till Wednesday night, at nine o’clock long enough to complete his 98^th year.

He has left behind him two sons and one daughter, and several grandchildren, besides great grandchildren.
