Mr. William Copson

Won Many Prizes at Swimming

For many years a well-known member of Rushden Swimming Club, Mr. William Copson died at his home, 12, St. Mary’s Avenue, Rushden, on Sunday. He was 53.

Mr. Copson was born in Rushden and worked as a clicker for John Cave and Sons until he was taken seriously ill last July. He had won many prizes at swimming and was also a keen gardener. His chief hobby was carpentry, and he had made many articles for his home.

Those bereaved are Mrs. Emily Keller Copson (widow), Mrs. Doreen Perkins and Mrs. Audrey Bayes (daughters), four sisters and four brothers. The funeral service took place at Kettering Crematorium today (Wednesday).
