Casualty of Raid Dies A Rushden man who was buried by debris when bombs fell at Messrs. John Cave and Sons’ factory in October 1940, and who had been in failing health ever since, died on Sunday. He was Mr. Charles William Copperwheat, of 63 Highfield-road, Rushden, who lived with his mother, Mrs. S. Copperwheat. Mr. Copperwheat was a member of the Athletic Club. He was born in Rushden and was employed as a clicker by Messrs. Cave and Sons until his recent illness developed. In addition to his mother, Mr. Copperwheat, who is unmarried, leaves two brothers, Mr. Reg. Copperwheat of 6 Tennyson-road, and Mr. Cyril Copperwheat, of 33 Upper Queen-street, and a sister, Mrs. P. Farr, of 28 North-street, Rushden. Funeral of Mr. C. W. Copperwheat The funeral took place on Wednesday of Mr. Charles William Copperwheat (47), of 63, Highfield-road, Rushden, who died on Sunday. A service at the home, conducted by the Rev. John Renison (minister of the Independent Wesleyan Church), was followed by cremation at Kettering.
