Funeral of Mr J F Cook

The funeral took place on Tuesday of Mr. Jesse Frederick Cook, founder of the firm of J. F. Cook and Sons, printers, in Church-street, who passed away last Saturday.

Mr Cook, who was 77 years of age had been in failing health for some time, but was taken worse nine weeks ago.

Mr Cook had been a member of the Park-road Baptist Church since 1899 and was, over a long period Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher.

He leaves a widow (his second wife), the two sons and a daughter, Mrs H Swindall.

The service was conducted at the home by the Rev. R. P. Jones, of the Park-road Baptist Church, and interment  followed at the Rushden Cemetery.

Family mourners were: Mr. W. P. Cook and Mr. A. E. Cook (sons). Mr. A. T.  Swindall, Mr. D. C. Swindall, Mr. R. Cook and Mr. J. Cook (grandsons), Mr. H. C. Swindall (son-in-law), Mr. L. Sykes (stepson), Mr. A. Norris, of Ridgmont and Mr. E.Hodgkins (friends).

The whole of the employees of J. F. Cook and Sons joined in the cortege at the cemetery and also present at the graveside were Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Sharwood, Mr. J. T. Richardson, J.P., Mr. D. S. Hunt, Mr. Geo. Bayes, Mr. J. Sykes, senr., Mr. A. Hanger and Mr. W. T. L. Flood.

Mr Cook was buried on 8th July 1947, in Grave F281.
