Mrs. Emma Cook

Mrs. Emma Cook, of 98, Washbrook-road, Rushden, who died at Wellingborough on Friday last, was aged 82 years and had been bedridden for the last four years.

She was a native of Irchester, but had lived in Rushden for nearly 40 years.

Her husband, who died 31 years ago, was engaged in the construction of the L.M.S. Railway Company's branch line from Wellingborough to Higham Ferrers, and on the completion of this work was for many years foreman of a plate laying gang on the same railway line.

A son, Mr. John H. Cook, and two daughters, Mrs. F. Newell and Mrs. E. Partridge (Wollaston), are bereaved.

The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, and the service was conducted at 98, Washbrook-road, by the Rev. C. J. Keeler, minister of the Independent Wesleyan Church. The mourners were: Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Cook (son and daughter-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. F. Newell and Mr. and Mrs. E. Partridge (sons-in-law and daughters), Mrs. E. Harrison and Mrs. J. Pattison (granddaughters), Mrs. B. Parker and Mrs. G. Clements, Irchester (granddaughter and niece).

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. T. Swindall and Son.
