An old inhabitant of Rushden, who recently went to live at Southend, died on April 15 at Rochford County Hospital. He was Mr. Ernest Clayton, aged 70, who formerly resided at 12, Portland Road, Rushden.

Mr. Clayton was born at Rushden and until his retirement worked as a clicker at a boot factory. He was formerly associated with the Adult School choir and a member of Rushden Park Road Methodist male voice choir.

He was residing at Southend with his daughter.
