The Death of Mr William Clark, aged 68, of 78 Cromwell-road, took place on Monday morning after an illness lasting for nine months. The deceased had lived in Rushden many years, and he was a member of several Rushden clubs. An interesting feature about Mr Clark’s career was that he used to drive the first ’bus which took passengers from Rushden to the old Higham Ferrers station of the L.N.W. Railway. This was a position which he filled for several years. Latterly Mr Clark had done gardening for a living. Six sons, one of whom is in New Zealand, and one daughter are left to mourn their loss. The funeral took place yesterday, the Rev. G H Lipscomb officiating.
