The funeral of Mr. Samuel Chettle, of Rushden, whose death we reported in our last issue, took place yesterday week in the Rushden cemetery in the presence of a large number of sympathisers. The cortege first proceeded to the Park-road Baptist Church, where the first portion of the burial service was conducted by the Rev. H. J. Horn, who also officiated at the graveside. The mourners were Mrs. Samuel Chettle (widow), and Mr. Jeremiah Chettle (brother), Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Coleman (nephew and niece), Mr. and Mrs. H. Gates (nephew and niece), Mrs. Jeremiah Chettle (sister-in-law), and Mrs. Walter Knight (niece), Mrs. Howard (sister-in-law) and Mr. Tom Gates (nephew). The coffin was of oak with brass fittings and bore the breastplate:-
