Rushden Echo, 8th November 1918, transcribed by Kay Collins
Miss Lizzie Chettle

Death of Miss Chettle—We regret to record that Mr. and Mrs. George Chettle, of 63 Duck-street, have suffered bereavement by the death from inflammation of the kidneys and bronchitis of their second daughter, Miss Lizzie Chettle, who passed away on Wednesday evening at the age of 18 years. The deceased young lady, who was well-known and highly respected throughout the town and district, was her father’s “right hand” in his business, and much sympathy is felt with the bereaved parents and family. The late Miss Chettle had only been ill a week or two, influenza developing into the more serious complaint. She was a regular attendant at the services at St. Mary’s Church, and also at the Sunday school. The funeral will take place on Monday next.
